Regie Thomas Doebele Maarten Schmidt

Extern producent: Interakt René Mendel en Mira Mendel – 2013

musician: Ernst Reijseger violoncello

In this Documentary the wayward Maarten Schmidt, Thomas Doebele and musician, cellist Ernst Reijseger seek the Mongolian music culture and the Mongolian ‘white gold’: nowhere in the world you can find better horsehair for bows.

Reijseger’s encounters with musicians and instrument makers in the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar and rural areas are set against the backdrop of booming Mongolia, where the original Nomad culture is at odds with the explosive developments in the mining industry and increasing urbanization.
